Holly Wilcox · email@example.com
Lawyer, attorney, esquire, counselor... these are all words that describe someone who practices law. But Holly prefers the word advocate because she strongly believes it is her responsibility to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. She takes this responsibility very seriously, and values the opportunity to help people.
Holly is a native of Hillsville, Virginia, where she attended Carroll County High School and was a member of the marching band, the tennis team, and the captain of the public speaking forensics team. She developed a passion for helping people at the University of Virginia, where she volunteered teaching English to speakers of other languages. She then attended Elon University School of Law, where she participated in the Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic and organized a pro bono Spring Break trip to Karnes, Texas, to assist women and children seeking asylum who were detained at an immigration detention facility. She concluded her legal training as an intern at the Public Defender's Office in Greensboro.
In her spare time, Holly enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, Darcy and Justice. She tries to travel and accumulate as many passport stamps as possible, and she loves visiting local wineries in the Yadkin Valley.
Mike has always enjoyed singing, and continues to sing with the Wytheville Community College Choir. He also is active in his church, where he serves as the treasurer and sings in the choir.
He lives in Virginia with his wife, Tina, and their cat, Min-Yow.
Business Manager & Spanish interpreter
Mike Wilcox · firstname.lastname@example.org
Mike Wilcox is the second member of our team, and happens to be Holly's dad. He developed an interest in other cultures as a military brat, and then served his own military career by spending 21 years in the United States Navy. Mike still enjoys traveling, and has been to over forty countries on six continents, and has flown in an airplane over the seventh.
Mike attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied abroad for a year in Seville, Spain. During this time, he fine-tuned his Spanish language skills. He completed his education by obtaining a Masters of Science in Education to teach English to speakers of other languages.
Debbie Layher · email@example.com
Debbie has worn a number of hats in her career. She was a corpsman in the United States Navy for six years, during which time she served in Atsugi, Japan and Marine Corps Base, Quantico. She has been a business owner, first owning a coffee shop, and then a florist for eleven years. Most recently, she worked at a dog kennel and groomer. These experiences differed greatly, but they all had something in common: Debbie put people at ease. Her friendly nature has drawn customers and clients to her in each one of her previous jobs, and made them feel comfortable. This skill makes her the perfect point of contact in our office.
A native of Hillsville, Virginia, Debbie enjoys spending time outdoors, and particularly at her family farm in Grayson County, where she is currently building her dream home. She lives with her husband, Lynn, and their miniature dachshund, Lucy.
In her spare time, Debbie enjoys jewelry making, and you can check out her Etsy shop by clicking here.
The newest member of our team, Felony joined our office in July 2018. Born onto the mean streets of Mount Airy, she enjoys her cushy new job protecting the law office. When not interacting with clients, she enjoys sunbathing in the windowsill and playing indoor soccer with scrap paper balls.
