Attorney at Law • email@example.com
Attorney, Lawyer, Esquire… These are all words that can be used to describe someone practicing law. However, Holly prefers the term “advocate”, because she feels strongly that her responsibility in the legal profession is to speak up for others. She takes this responsibility seriously, and appreciates the unique opportunity she has to help people!
Holly Wilcox is a native of Hillsville, Virginia, and a graduate of Carroll County High School, where she played tennis, was a member of the marching band, and was the captain of the forensics team. She developed a passion for working with immigrants during her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, where she tutored English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for three years. Holly then attended Elon University School of Law and participated in various clinics and internships that focused on immigration and criminal law. The highlight of her law school career was a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where she and a team of other law students and their professor assisted women and children who were detained in an immigration detention center.
In her spare time, Holly enjoys cooking, reading, listening to podcasts, watching movies, and spending time with her family and her English Springer Spaniel named Darcy. Her guilty pleasures include keeping up with celebrity gossip and watching reality TV. She is a fan of local wine, and tries to visit as many local vineyards as she can.
Holly is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys (Piedmont Triad Chapter), and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (Carolinas Chapter).

The second member of our team is Mike Wilcox, who happens to be Holly’s dad. He developed an interest in other cultures while growing up as a navy brat, and went on to complete his own 21 year career as an officer in the US Navy. Mike still enjoys travel, and in his life has visited over 40 countries and six continents, while navigating an airplane over the seventh.
While studying Spanish and Chemistry as an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he spent a year abroad in Seville, Spain, where he polished his Spanish language skills. He went on to earn a Master’s of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Shenandoah University.
For the last 13 years, Mike has been a secondary school teacher in Virginia, and has taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adults at the community college level. He is excited to work with clients from other countries and learn more about people from various backgrounds living in our area.
Mike has always been passionate about singing, and is active in his local church, where he sings in the choir and serves as the treasurer. Additionally, he sings with a local community college choir. He enjoys spending time with his wife Tina, a music educator and choir director, and their two cats, Min-Yow and Venus.
